The Chip Monk offers mobile windshield chip and crack repair, serving the Roaring Fork Valley and select areas along the I-70 corridor.

Who are we?

We’re a locally owned and operated business dedicated to providing fast, efficient, and dependable service. Exceptional customer care is at the heart of what we do—it’s a priority for us, and we think it should be for you too.

Our owner, a Roaring Fork Valley resident since 2012, brings over two decades of experience in the automotive industry, having worked in and managed auto repair and auto body businesses since 2000.

Why Chip and Crack Repair?

Our goal is to repair a chip or crack as soon as possible to prevent them from getting worse and avoid having to replace the entire windshield.

A small chip can turn into a small crack and eventually a large crack. Just warming your car up on a cold day with the defrost on, can instantly turn a chip into a crack or cause a small crack to spread.

The cost of windshield replacement has skyrocketed in the last decade. Not only is the cost of the windshield high, but also many new vehicles require costly calibrations.

Did you know many windshield replacements on newer vehicles are $1500 or more?

Not everyone has windshield replacement coverage on their insurance policy.

Not to mention, how many times do rock chips occur right after replacing a new windshield? A chip or crack repair is a great option even on recently replaced glass.

We provide all the necessary documentation and photos for you to get reimbursed by your insurance company if you have glass coverage.

What makes us different?

We use the best tools and materials in the industry, and do not stick with one brand or manufacturer. We feel that investing in the highest quality tools and offering a wide array of resins allow us to ensure the best and longest lasting repair, catered to each specific chip or crack. We have tested numerous variations of tools and resins to determine not only the best tools to use but also the best tool and resin combinations for each unique repair.

We currently have 15+ different resins that vary in color tint, viscosity and repair strength. They are tested to meet the U.S. ANSI-approved ROLAGS standard for windshield glass strength as well as the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 205 (FMVSS 205) tests required for new windshields, ensuring top performance even for long cracks.

Most shops use one tool, one resin with no other options. We have been manufacturer trained and certified in multiple tool systems, procedures, applications and resins.

This is an example of a chip repair process, before, during the repair, and the result. This particular chip repair was done 6 months after the damage originally occurred.
